Step:

  1. fry sausage with onion and bell pepper. drain sausage mixture.

  2. *** I put sausage in colandar and let it drain while I put the eggs, milk, and all the seasoning in a bowl and beat.

  3. stir in drained sausage, hashbrowns, bread, & cheese.

  4. pour mixture in lightly buttered 8x8 baking pan. cover and refrigerate overnight.

  5. remove from refrigerator 1 hr before baking. put in a 325° oven and bake for 75 minutes, until eggs are lightly brown.

  6. knife inserted in the center should come out clean. cool for 10 minutes and serve.

  7. **** I serve with a bundt cake pan with monkey bread....

  8. **** can be served with toast and Sasha's Berry Butter on profile... let the butter get room tempature... yum


Ingredients

  1. 1 lb pork sausage
  2. 6 large eggs
  3. 2 cup half and half.... or milk
  4. 1 tsp dry mustard
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. 1 tsp black pepper
  7. 6 oz hashbrown (shredded or southern style)
  8. 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  9. 1 1/2 tsp paprika
  10. 3 slice french or italian bread.... stale bread is fine... cubed
  11. 1 small onion, minced
  12. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  13. 1 dash cayenne pepper... if you use spicy pork sausage dont use cayenne..... CAYENNE IS OPTIONAL
