In a large pot, brown ground beef.
In a separate pan, saute' vegetables in oil and seasonings.
When vegetables are tender and onion is translucent, blend in with beef.
Add canned items and allow to simmer at least 1 hour.
*For hotter chili with a Southwestern twist, add a few tablespoons of diced jalapeño peppers during the simmering process.*
