Combine sauce ingredients and mix well. Can be done ahead of time and refrigerated until needed.
In large saucepan or Dutch oven, cook meat and onion in butter until meat is browned and onions are translucent.
Add sauce to pan, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
Can add 2 Tbsp cornstarch or flour mixed with cold water to thicken if you like.
Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Serve over cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
